Itinerary

Day 1 Hilton Garden Inn Nairobi Airport, Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport meet your hotel driver who will load your luggage in the transfer vehicle and transfer to the hotel (transfer by hotel).

Overnight/Breakfast……….. HILTON GARDEN INN NAIROBI AIRPORT.

Situated along the Nairobi River in beautiful Kenya, the capital of Nairobi is East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. It serves as an excellent starting point for African safari trips around Kenya. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place to be. There are some fascinating attractions: its cafe culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably, just 20 minutes from the city centre, wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. Make sure you pay a visit to the elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 2 Elephant Bedroom Camp, Samburu National Reserve

Early breakfast, at 07h30 meet your driver/guide and start safari first on Eastern Bypass & Thika Highway via Ruiru then proced on the country road along the pineapple plantations & other farms. Pass through Nyeri and in Nanyuki cross the equator and continue via Isiolo to Archers Post. Enter the reserve with a game drive en route to the camp. Arrive for lunch and relax.Later go on an afternoon game drive in the reserve.

Dinner and overnight…………….ELEPHANT BEDROOM CAMP

Set on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River and neighbouring the Buffalo Springs National Park, Samburu National Reserve is characterised by a spectacular landscape of rugged hills, undulating plains and riverine forests. The park is home to abundant wildlife including a variety of rare species such as the reticulated giraffe, the long-necked gerenuk, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, and Beisa Oryx. Visitors can also enjoy spotting over 900 elephants, a variety of predators, and over 450 bird species. The ancient culture of the Samburu people is still alive here, and it is possible to see two unique customs firsthand. In the first, watch as herds of cattle respond to each man’s individual voice as they call. In the second, see the tribesmen perform incredible dances that go back hundreds of years..

Day 3 Elephant Bedroom Camp, Samburu National Reserve

Early breakfast and extensive morning game drive, lunch at camp, rest and then extensive afternoon stalk.

Dinner and overnight ………..ELEPHANT BEDROOM CAMP

The Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert park covering an area of 165 km². It’s up to the south-east corner of Samburu District in Rift Valley Province and is bordered by the Ewaso Nyiro River, which crosses it from Buffalo Springs Reservation separates. Samburu is rich in wildlife and known for its abundance of rare Norse Special species such as Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Rothschild Giraffe, Gerenuk and Beisa Oryx (also known as Samburu Special designated). The reserve also has about 900 elephants. Large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah are an important one Attraction. Wild dog sightings are also a frequent attraction at this unique sanctuary. The bird life is rich and over 450 species are counted. The birds of the arid northern scrubland are protected by a series of river and forest species added. Kestrel and Taita falcon are species of global conservation importance and they are both in the to find the reserve. Five species have also been registered there, which have been classified as endangered. These are the African Darter, Great Egret, Bald Vulture, Martial Eagle and Oxbill. AMONG CITIES Critically Endangered Species – The sanctuary is also home to the pancake turtle “malacochersus tornieri”.

Day 4 Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp, Lake Elmenteita

Early breakfast & depart with a game drive en-route out of the reserve. Exit and drive to the Great Rift Valley, after Mweiga passing by Thomson’s Fall on the way to Elementaita. Upon arrival at the lodge, check in, lunch is served and relax in the garden – afternoon at leisure, enjoy the view.

Dinner and overnight….………………… LAKE ELTMENTAITA SERENA CAMP

Elmenteita, meaning ‘place of dust’, is a photogenic, little soda lake situated in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. Famously attractig many visiting flamingos as well as many other birds, it has been named as a World Heritage Site for its prolific birdlife. This is where Kenya’s most famous settler Lord Delamere lived and he was responsible for much of Kenya’s early agricultural experimentation in this fertile area; it is still inhabited by some of his descendants. The shores are often filled with wildlife and the surrounding forests are perfect for long walks and bird watching. Visitors can look forward to visiting the idyllic Kekopey hot springs, game viewing along the lake’s edge, and numerous other activities. Look out for eland, kudu, zebra, gazelle, and warthog families

Day 5 Mara Eden Safari Camp, Masai Mara National Reserve

Early morning breakfast, checkout and depart for Masai Mara National Reserve with a drive guide enroute. Arrive in time for lunch at Mara Eden Safari camp. Enjoy an afternoon game drive

Dinner and Overnight…………….MARA EDEN SAFARI CAMP

Day 6 Mara Eden Safari Camp, Masai Mara National Reserve

Early breakfast and depart with your lunch boxes for a full-day game drive in the wilderness (your driver guide to pick the best spot to have your lunch). Return to the camp by early evening.

Dinner and overnight………………MARA EDEN SAFARI CAMP

One of Kenya’s undisputed natural highlights is the Masai Mara National Reserve, which sprawls across more than 1500 square kilometres of the country’s southwest. The park protects a phenomenal array of game, including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, as well as crocodile and hippopotamus in the Mara River. The birdlife is no less impressive, with over 450 resident bird species. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognised as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. To survive the dry months of July to September, some 1.7 million wildebeest, migrate from the parched plains of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Along with much smaller numbers of antelope, buffalo and zebra, they move to the more forgiving grasslands of the Masai Mara. In their wake come predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah, for whom these giant herds are an easy source of prey.

Early morning breakfast, checkout and depart for Nakuru. Arrive in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Sopa lodge. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight………….LAKE NAKURU SOPA LODGE

Nakuru is a fascinating city on the shores of western Kenya’s Lake Nakuru. The capital of Nakuru County located in the Great Rift Valley, about ten kilometres from the massive Menengai Crater. A hiking trail leads up to the rim of this ancient caldera, offering bird’s eye views over the lake and surrounds, and then plunges 400 metres down to the floor below, where visitors can walk among ancient forests. Lake Nakuru National Park, surrounding Nakuru, is home to exceptional birdlife, as well as over 50 varieties of mammals including lion, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, rhino, antelope and various primates. History and culture enthusiasts should make sure to visit the incredible Hyrax Hill prehistoric site.

Day 9 Eka Hotel, Nairobi

Early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. Check out and drive towards Nairobi. Drop off at Eka lodge
